Namaste is an ancient Sanskrit greeting, used widely throughout India and Nepal. The Hinduism faith that God is present everywhere, includes the belief that every person, judged both good and bad, has the Light of God inside them – a beautiful sentiment that transcends all thought, judgment, and separation. As commonly heard amongst yogis and their practitioners, “Namaste,” represents the respect that the teacher and student have for one another. It’s the recognition of their experience together of sharing an energetic, spiritual connection in a place of timelessness, free from the grips of thought and ego. Translated roughly, it means "I bow to the God within you," honoring that we are all made from the same One Divine Consciousness. Being that yoga originated in India over 5,000 years ago, it’s a beautiful expression of respect to honor India with their indigenous gift they’ve given us. ~ Namaste
